The soft light of the early morning sun softly touched Sophie’s face. The warmth felt good to her. It was like when Mark woke her up in the mornings. She opened her eyes. She missed Mark – he was her very best friend, partner and he meant “home”. He was the only one who knew, from hundreds of kilometers away via a single-word text message, how she felt and what she needed at the moment…<3

“They say that if you love someone, let them go.”- she remembered the often heard sentence. “But nobody tells you how to do that!?” - she thought to herself. She found it particularly “funny” that the first sentence is usually said by friends living in a relationship who do not even remember what it is like to be alone, no longer hoping or dreaming and when you ask them what they mean exactly, they don’t even know or can’t explain.

Sophie thought long and hard about who could really help her? Who could give her some clear advice? Who knew best what direction she should go in and especially, how?

“The old Oak Tree!” she cried out so loudly that even she was surprised! “I have to talk with the old Oak Tree!” - she repeated. A wide smile came across her face and she immediately assumed the lotus position with her back against the armchair and her palms turned upward facing the sky on the arm rests. She allowed the light of the early morning sun to flow all over her body. She closed her eyes and in her mind she was already flying to the lake where the old Oak Tree stood. “We haven’t met in a long time” - the Old Master greeted her. “How can I help you?” Sophie didn’t need any further encouragement and started talking...
